Chalong View ’best value on Phuket’
Thailand Property Report
Over 30 per cent of units in a Chalong condominium
project, described by its developer as the ´best value on
the island´ have already been sold to buyers, despite the
fact construction only got underway in September 2007.
The Chalong Bay View Condominiums are sited in an
ex-pat-friendly area of Phuket which Gary Ebsen, long time
Phuket resident and director of Eco-Cool Thai Homes,
believes is very much on the up, “Chalong is an
up-and-coming area, but it is still affordable,” he said.
“Arguably, the view of the bay is the most underrated view
on the island. From the west coast you just see the deep
blue sea, but in Chalong you view out over the offshore
islands and the boat traffic.”
The project is close to Chalong Circle; a key
transportation hub which places many of the island´s key
points within easy reach. Ebsen added that the nearby
Chalong pier is another key selling point. “The pier at
Chalong has long served as the centre of water sports on
the island,” he said.
Work began on the project in September 2007, and the first
units are due to be handed over towards the end of 2008.
Meanwhile, 33 per cent of the 90-115sq.m units on the
five-rai plot have already been snapped up by buyers.
The units are priced from Bt3.9-7.9m, a price range that
Ebsen believes is extremely competitive: “These are large,
open air, ocean view condos and we believe they offer the
best value of any project on Phuket,” he added.
The Chalong area, which had until recently been largely
overlooked by developers, has now shifted up a gear to
become Phuket´s fastest growing property market.
