Tourism increases by 3 percent in 07
Thailand Property Report
The Kasikorn Research Center (KRC) says some 14. 2
million foreign tourists visited Thailand in 2007 - an
increase of three per cent on 2006. As well as a rise in
raw numbers, the amount of money visitors are spending
also increased. Thailand earned Bt500 billion (US$15.9
billion) from tourism revenue - an increase of 10 per cent
from last year.
The leading think tankīs report said Thailandīs tourism
improved its predictions during the second half of 2007
due to a number of positive factors surrounding increased
transparency in the political sector, the general
election, activities to celebrate His Majesty the Kingīs
80th birthday on 5 December and the annual Loy Krathong
festival, which was celebrated by Thais nationwide on 24
November.
