Unspoilt, unhurried and unknown! Thailand’s second largest island offers tranquil investment opportunities
Talk that Koh Chang will become Thailand’s second Phuket,
are both far fetched and impossible. The reason is that Koh Chang (affectionately known as the ‘Elephant Island’)
is part of a forty seven island national park; approximately 75% of the island is protected rain forest,
perhaps the best preserved in South East Asia.
The much abused phrase ‘getaway destination’ is actually appropriate when it comes to Koh Chang.

Located 270 kms southeast of Bangkok in the Gulf of Thailand, Koh Chang is about a three
hour drive from the new Suvarnabhumi Airport and even closer to the regional airport at the provincial capital of Trat.
From here you have a short fifteen minute drive to the car ferry terminal, where you will embark on a twenty minute crossing of the channel to the island.
Similar in shape to Phuket, Koh Chang covers 492 m², with long east and west coasts. The west coast, which features the developed resort areas,
has the best beaches, (White Sand Beach and Kai Bae being the most popular). While much of the prime beach front property
on the west coast has been snapped up, it is on the more rugged east
coast where you’ll find the opportunities.
West coast land is on the market for between seven and ten million Baht per rai. In an established area,
such as White Sand Beach, land is almost impossible to find, and when it does come on the market you will be paying
over twenty million Baht per rai.
Whereas, on the east coast, comparable plots are available between three and five million Baht per rai.
Elevated property, on the hills skirting the east coast, is even cheaper and offers stunning coastal views.
